The Tammy Faye Biopic
In the battle between God and Mammon, it's a knockout win for Mammon in this director's brilliantly over-the-top true story about the fallen TV preacher and her felon spouse. Garfield portrays the venal Jim, who declares initially, claiming divine approval for wealth. He and Tammy Faye commence profiting from the American public's spiritual convictions. It's a spectacle of tacky decor, excessive cosmetics and insincerity, yet Jessica Chastain succeeds to show Tammy Faye in a likable light. Tuesday 14 October, early morning, the Film4 channel
