Per new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, now completing a 20-year prison term for sex-trafficking crimes, is reportedly preparing a commutation application for consideration by the presidential administration.

Preferential Handling Claimed at Correctional Facility

Congressional Democrats on the judicial oversight panel announced that a whistleblower provided evidence indicating the inmate is working on the commutation application. Additionally, they mentioned she has been receiving special treatment at the minimum-security facility in Texas.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House judiciary committee, stated in a official statement that the facility's chief was assisting Maxwell with copying, printing, and sending documents to support her bid for executive mercy.

Specific details of the clemency request remain unclear, Raskin added.

Alleged Privileges and Special Accommodations

Raskin states that, according to the whistleblower, Maxwell has been receiving “customized” meals that are “personally delivered” to her living area, and the supervisor has “personally arranged” private meetings for Maxwell and her guests.

The visits allegedly include a “special cordoned-off area” for visitors and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her guests.

Those visiting Maxwell were also reportedly permitted to bring computers, which Raskin described as an “unprecedented action” given the security risk and potential for unsupervised contact.

Reportedly on one occasion, when phone lines went down for other prisoners, she was given specific instructions about instructing her associates to call and how personnel would connect the communication to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The source also allegedly told House Democrats that when Maxwell wanted to review and edit documents “quickly”, she “essentially used” the official as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The statement states that Maxwell’s correspondents would send files directly to the warden, who would hand them over to Maxwell, who would review and edit them and provide them back to the official to scan and provide to the initial correspondent.

Additional Privileges Alleged

Further perks allegedly granted to Maxwell include opportunities to interact with a service dog puppy – a benefit not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the prison exercise area.

Maxwell’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

In a statement, the presidential office said that it “will not discuss” on possible pardon appeals.

“As President Trump has stated, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has considered,” the representative added.

Recent Background

Recently, it was reported that she told friends and family in emails from prison that she was “much happier” at the new prison than her former location.

In August, Maxwell was moved from a low-security prison in Florida's capital to the less restrictive prison in the state, where most inmates are incarcerated for financial and non-violent crimes.

The transfer, which experts described as “unprecedented”, occurred just shortly following she was interviewed about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, the official, who also once acted as the President's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation and amid intense speculation around the President's own connections to the fallen billionaire and convicted sex offender, who was found deceased in custody in 2019 while awaiting prosecution on trafficking accusations.

Congressional Response

In the news release, Raskin also announced that he had dispatched a communication to the President, requesting explanations about the insider's claims, and called on the chief executive to deny the clemency appeal.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any type of pardon to this convicted and unrepentant sex offender,” Raskin wrote in the document. “Your Administration should not be providing her with room service, with canine interaction, with government agents waiting on her every need, or with any preferential handling or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that the official attend a open legislative session to discuss the revelations and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

He inquired whether Trump had discussed a potential commutation for Maxwell with Blanche or others, whether he had instructed Blanche or anyone else to arrange Maxwell with the move or favorable and preferential treatment in detention, and whether she, her attorneys, relatives or representatives have made any commitments to the President or his legal team.

Raskin has asked for a response to the questions by the specified date.

Last month, the US supreme court declined to hear an petition from Maxwell on her sex-trafficking conviction.
