In a surprising partnership that breaks usual expectations, the game developer has revealed an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Mission Revealed

According to the authorized statement, "A strange meeting leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where whispers of banned rituals and monstrous metamorphoses echo through the darkness." The plot presents a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a hidden group.

The questline centers on "strange experiments and a monstrous enemy" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Places and Transformations

The trailer features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer ends with a striking moment showing a character, probably the captive, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Rewards and Extra Material

Players who finish the adventure will obtain an unique katana alongside several artifacts hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:

Newest Free Story Update

This update also brings the game's third complimentary story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." True to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
